Bulk amorphous and nanocrystalline reinforced Pd-based alloys: Formation, structural, thermal and elastic properties

摘要
The preparation of bulk and completely amorphous Pd40Cu 30Ni10P20 and nanoprecipitated amorphous Pd35Cu30Ni10Fe5P20 alloys by arc melting was discussed. The homogeneous and fully amorphous Pd 40Cu30Ni10P20 powders were prepared by high energy ball milling of fine elemental and compound powders. It was demonstrated that both methods, arc melting and ball milling, are suitable to produce homogeneous bulk amorphous Pd-based alloys. A significant increase in the values of the elastic constants was observed in the case of nanocrystals reinforced composite Pd-based alloys.
