A preliminary analysis on E-commerce adoption in small medium enterprises

摘要
The term "information technology" (IT) itself has been widely recognized as a strategic weapon for SMEs, especially in maintaining a competitive advantage. Where over 60% of SMEs in the USA and Canada have adopted some forms of business process through a computer mediated network, such as the Internet, other countries have significantly lower adoption rates. Firstly, this paper takes a critical took at the existing research on adoption of e-business technology by SMEs. And then, it focuses on the issue the major factors influencing adoption of the Internet by SMEs. Finally, according to the E-commerce requirements for SMEs, the paper discusses the SME capability to use networked processes.
