摘要
The synthesis of poly[(m-phenyleneethynylene)-alt-(p-phenyleneethynylene)] via the Heck-type coupling of 2,5-bis(hexyloxy)-1,4-diiodobenzene with 1,3-diethynylbenzene was investigated. The combination of high molecular weight, normal polydispersity, and monomodal distribution suggested that cyclic products were not formed during the polymerization. The observed low Mark-Houwink exponent was rationalized in terms of the bond angles at the m-phenylene, which was significantly smaller than that of the 2,5-thienylene unit.
