Global bifurcations in the basins of attraction in noninvertible maps and economic applications

The main topic of this paper is the study of the boundaries of the basins of attraction (and related bifurcations) in noninvertible maps which present situation of multistability, (i.e. several attractors coexisting). The critical curves method, an important tool for the analysis of the global dynamical properties of noninvertible maps, is used. As an example, some interesting dynamics associated to a two-dimensional map describing firm's financial conditions are also shown, in order to emphasize the usefulness of such a kind of analysis in the economic applications.
