摘要
Objective: To examine the efficacy of a cognitive-behavioral group therapy in children with social anxiety. Method: Twenty socially anxious girls and boys aged 9 to 12 years were assigned,to treatment (n = 10) or no treatment (n = 10) groups. Assessments were conducted before and after treatment, and at a 3-month follow-up. Results: The treatment produced a reduction in symptoms of social anxiety, especially with regard to interpreting social situations in-a less threatening fashion. At the 3-month follow-up a further improvement of anxiety management could be observed. Conclusions: This pilot study provides evidence for an effect of a cognitive-behavioral group therapy for children with social anxiety.
