摘要
Selection of the optimum generation reserve depends on both economic and reliability considerations. A new approach to select the optimum generator additions in a bulk power system by minimising the total costs is presented in the paper. This includes investment, operational costs and unreliability costs in the form of outage costs. The proposed approach uses the Dantzig-Wolfe decomposition approach to minimise the total costs.
