摘要
A model is proposed which expounds electron as an object showing a definite structure. It is based on the high frequency microscopic oscillations (Zitterbewegung) that, according to Dirac equation, an electron at rest performs about its center of mass. Simple arguments based on the energy-time uncertainty principle indicate that in low-energy experiments these oscillations cannot be observed. Consequently, steady distributions of charge appear on the oscillation axes and electron turns into a set of charged needles radially arranged about the center of oscillation. It is shown that the electrostatic energy of this distribution of charge is finite so that the electron self-energy can be interpreted as the electron mass. (C) 2011 Physics Essays Publication.
