Teaching method and evaluation of Information Education in Shimane Nursing College

Environment of Information Education using campus LAN was established at Shimane Nursing College in 1995. The campus LAN system was connected to Internet. With this system, the students and the staff of the college are able to access Internet. In this environment we have been teaching information science/information processing as a required subject to first year students. The teaching method includes ''Learning by doing'' and allows the student to have ''many success experiences''. As a result, most students expressed a positive attitude toward the use of a network system. We utilize this system not only for information education, but also in the field of professional nursing education.
