摘要
Thanks to the rapid development of modern information and communication technologies (ICT), which have already penetrated all the spheres of education, including foreign language teaching (FLT), teachers of foreign languages have many more possibilities of how to increase their students' communicative competences. In particular, they can apply different approaches to their teaching of foreign languages. Perhaps, one of the most progressive approaches at the moment, based on the exploitation of ICT, is a corpus-based approach. The purpose of this article is therefore to discuss this approach with respect to the conditions at Czech schools, emphasize its benefits for English language teaching and demonstrate some of its exploitation for FLT.
