摘要
Bismuth particles are embedded in quasicrystalline matrices of ternary aluminum alloys to study the effect of interfaces on the melting and solidification. In case of Bi particles embedded in Al65Cu20Fe15 matrix, three different states of matrix are produced by thermal treatments. The melting behavior of the lead particles in these matrices are found to be very different, which would be directly related to the nature of the particle-matrix interface.
