A TRAINING FOCUSED ON DEVELOPING MASTER STUDENTS' EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

This study aims to promote a training focused on developing master students' emotional intelligence, having as a main goal the formation of complementary skills necessary for their future career. 40 master students were involved, who were asked to individually fill in the Emotional Intelligence Scale - EIS (Schutte et al, 1998) at the beginning and in the end of an academic semester. The thematic structuring and the implementation of the training started from the prior analysis of activities assumed as specific to their future profession and from identifting difficulties and sources of stress. The methods used were the focus group, the document analysis, product analysis and the personal journal. The results show that the training focused on developing master students' emotional intelligence is useful because it determines the formation of contingency management skills that the initial training fails to cover completely.
