摘要
The use of mobile devices has been widely known to provide potential for language learners to improve their language skills. This present study investigates the attitude of English learners to using mobile devices, particularly in assessing speaking skills. This study used a case study approach, and 34 university students participated in the study. Within a semester, each student volunteered to record a two-minute speech about one argumentative topic and shared the recording to a LINE group application consisting of class members as well as the teacher. At the end, students were welcome to give feedback and comments. The results showed that this practice improves both their skills and motivation to speak English better. Some language aspects, such as pronunciation, can be improved, and students feel less anxious when practicing their speaking. Some problems were also discussed.
