Forest classification and height indicators using L-band SAR

摘要
This paper presents an analysis of optimised coherence produced from airborne L-band SAR at 10m and 20in baselines. It is shown that a supervised classification based on coherence appears to produce an improved differentiation between tree heights and densities when compared to a backscatter classification. The relationship between coherence and tree height is also considered, and is found to be not as consistent as would have been expected. An explanation of why this may be is given.
