To the Editor: The review by Drain (Jan. 20 issue)(1) about rapid diagnostic testing for SARS-CoV-2 raises important questions. First, Drain states that persons who are not fully vaccinated and who have had exposure to an infected contact should quarantine while awaiting test results. Why would this not also apply to fully vaccinated persons, since they appear to be as potentially contagious?(2,3) Why would the pretest probability of infection be higher among unvaccinated persons than among fully vaccinated persons?
