High levels of enantioselectivity have been achieved in the diethylzinc addition to both aromatic and aliphatic aldehydes, employing readily available N-substituted-azetidinyl(diphenylmethyl)methanols as chiral catalysts. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
