摘要：
This paper presents a modified Harmony Search optimization technique in solving the economic load dispatch problem in a power system network. A Six-Unit System consisting of 6 thermal power units, 46 transmission lines and 26 buses have been considered for the fulfillment of economic load dispatch criterion. A comparison of the simulation output made between the results obtained by the proposed Harmony search method with that of Particle Swarm Optimization and Genetic Algorithm has been presented. The MATLAB simulation results reveal that the proposed MHMS based approach provides better results in terms of loss minimization though it involves a marginally higher operating cost.
