High data rate wireless system solution:: 60 GHz 5 GHz dual frequency operation

摘要
Data rate demand for wireless systems due to variety of applications is permanently growing. To meet the increased demand new generation of the systems has to be targeted. Due to the common spectrum availability it is necessarily required to invisage possible solutions at frequencies in higher microwave and lower MM-wave bands. However, possible future systems has to additionally provide features of utilising technologies having prospective of being low cost in near future, to provide easy backward capability to lower generation system and comprehensive interworking functionality. In this paper possibly system solutions for future dual frequency 60 GHz/ 5GHz systems are addressed, trying to give answer for major stated requirements. Both 60 GHz systems and 5 GHz systems (HIPERLAN II, IEEE 801.11a) are non-licensed systems having potential for mass market introduction in the near future.
