摘要
Open hypermedia system developers have many choices to make with respect to the extensibility mechanisms they include within their systems. The extensibility mechanisms of the Chimera open hypermedia system are presented to document the set of choices made for it. Chimera's extensibility mechanisms are based on a general technique that can be applied to many aspects of an open hypermedia system. For each choice, a particular issue is discussed and a set of alternatives for solving the issue is presented. Then, the choice made for Chimera, along with its supporting rationale, is presented using an extensibility analysis framework developed by Will. (C) 2001 Academic Press.
