摘要
Aiming at developing a simple theoretical method of analysis for predicting the uplift capacity of single piles embedded in clay assuming a composite failure surface (inverted truncated circular pyramidal and cylindrical surface), various pile and soil parameters such as length, diameter of the pile and the soil properties such as unit weight, internal friction angle and the pile-soil interface friction angle having direct influence on the uplift capacity of the pile are incorporated in the analysis. The predicted values of uplift capacity of pile with different embedment length-diameter ratio and soil properties are then compared with the values reported in literatures by model tests and field tests. The predictions are found to be in good agreement with the measured values validating the developed method of analysis.
