Deviations of the nominal base pitch acid the misalignment of gear pair are the source of non-uniform load distribution along the contact line of meshing teeth. When designing gears using DIN 3990 or ISO 6336 norms, the increase in loading is considered through the transverse load distribution factor K-H alpha and the face load distribution factor K-H beta. A short computational routine that deals with actual shapes of profile changes and misalignment can also be used to assess the maximum loading on mating teeth. Considering both procedures, the dependence of load distribution factor on the misalignment and the pitch errors for helical gear pair is presented.
