摘要
Space limitation and low cost heat removal process requirements leads to creation of professional equipment provided researchers goal of reduction in size of heat transfer equipment with improved thermal performance. Heat transfer may get intensified by decrement in thermal resistance or increasing turbulence such as by micro inserts. In the present study the computational investigation is performed to study the heat transfer and fluid flow in microchannel heat sink with outside micro inserts. In the present study the artificial roughness is provided using micro inserts. The simulation is performed using water as working fluid. The effects of inserts and fluid flow velocity on intensification of heat transfer were analyzed. In this study the effect on friction factor is also analyzed. The results of present study put light on the fact that heat transfer gets intensified due to addition of inserts and by increasing the fluid flow velocity. (c) 2021 Elsevier Ltd.
