摘要：

For a cluster-based sensor network, the cluster formation plays a key factor to the cost reduction. In this paper, we introduce a cost-efficient cluster formation method for wireless sensor networks (WSN). Our cluster formation method groups the objects in one duster Into two functional categories: sensor nodes and sentry. We also propose three basic cost-efficient cluster formation models and compare them based on the number of dusters and the cluster working load. In addition, we propose an algorithm of finding minimum number of clusters to cover a given area.
