摘要
We theoretically investigate the effect of temperature T and many-body intra- and inter-wire exchange-correlations on the charge-density-wave (CDW) instability in coupled quantum wire systems using the Singwi-Tosi-Land and Sj.lander (STLS) approximation. The charge carriers are assumed to be electrons in one wire and holes (electrons) in the other. Numerical results are presented for the in-phase component of the static charge density susceptibility at different linear electron (hole) number density and inter-wire spacing at fixed wire width and T. We detect a CDW state at finite-T in coupled electron-hole quantum wire system for sufficiently small inter-wire spacing and number density of the charge carriers, while no such instability is observed in the coupled electron-electron quantum wire system.
