摘要
This paper addresses manufacturing techniques for the printing of smalt cards. In order to meet high quality financial transaction and credit card issuers' demands for unique and creative graphic designs, smart card printers must use the most sophisticated printing processes available. Lithography, screen printing, and electronic prepress systems are reviewed as key elements of successful smart card printing. Appropriate inks and alternative ink drying systems are also featured. The impact of various raw materials used in smart card production on the printing process are also investigated.
