Influence of the initiation system composition on the topochemistry of suspension polymerization of vinyl chloride and the polymer morphology

摘要
The regularities of the suspension polymerization of vinyl chloride in the presence of initiation systems were studied. The initiation systems consisted of di-2-ethylhexyl peroxydicarbonate in combination with reducing agents (such as phthalimide or alkyl betaine) and alkali metal persulfate. The morphology of the suspension poly(vinyl chloride) was studied by electron microscopy. Correlation between the composition of the initiation system and the polymer grain structure was established.
