摘要
Current wireless networks are characterized by a static spectrum allocation policy, where governmental agencies assign wireless spectrum to license holders on a long term basis for large geographical regions. Because of the increase in spectrum demand, this policy faces spectrum scarcity in particular spectrum bands. As a result, a significant amount of spectrum is underutilized. Hence, dynamic spectrum access techniques were proposed to solve these spectrum underutilization problems. The main challenges of spectrum management in Cognitive Radio (CR) are spectrum sensing, spectrum decision, spectrum sharing and spectrum mobility. By exploiting the existing wireless spectrum opportunistically, CR networks are being developed to solve current wireless network problems. However, to ensure efficient communication, the Quality of Service parameters need to be considered.
