摘要
A computational study is conducted to study the effect of vibrational parameters on the heat transfer from a vertically-mounted heated plate. The introduction of vibrations to a heated plate can induce turbulence in the flow field adjacent to the plate under certain combinations of amplitudes and frequencies thus presenting an opportunity to enhance heat transfer rates. The study is performed using Large Eddy Simulations. The variation of the time-and-space-averaged Nusselt number with vibrational Reynolds numbers is presented for the range of parameters considered for the present study. It is observed that the heat transfer rates are strongly dependent on the vibrational Reynolds number; in the present work, increases of up to 107 % in Nusselt number values have been observed.
