摘要
In today's world concrete is utmost used material in the construction works. On the other hand concrete is quite expensive and also leads to the release of carbon dioxide in to the atmosphere. In order to control the various disadvantages of concrete the following research been made. Silica fume used as an admixture to produce high strength concrete and Limestone used as a filler material in various proportions 15%, 25% and 50% by weight of fine aggregate. Limestone was used as a replacement of M-Sand since it reduces the hydration process, less carbon dioxide emissions and readily available in all places. The low water ratio of 0.37was used and hence, chemical admixture named GLENIUM was used to increase the workability of concrete. According to Indian Standard M-40 grade concrete mix has been adopted. The end results obtained from strength tests and durability are to be compared with the conventional specimens and tests conducted for 7 and 28 days. Abrasion is cause of traffic and weather conditions so it's checked and the value to be obtained. Microscopic examination has been done with Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). All the mix proportions were analyzed using DoE. Two factors and three levels were considered in the Face centered central composite design to find the relationship between percentage of ingredients and the mechanical properties. The interaction between various parameters was found based on the regression models. The optimized condition is evaluated based on the surface and contour plot. (c) 2020 Elsevier Ltd.
