摘要
A confocal scanning laser microscope (SLM) is very useful for observing fatigue behavior. In this study, three types of fatigue testing machines for in-situ observation under a SLM were developed. By using these systems, fatigue crack initiations were observed directly on several advanced materials. Small fatigue cracks and fatigue damages in a advanced materials are clearly observed in the air. It is confirmed that this in-situ observing system is very powerful equipments to observe a small fatigue crack.
