摘要
In this study, nitrate reduction using laboratory synthesized nanoscale zero-valent iron (NZVI) was discussed. On the other side, denitrification of nitrate with Fe(0) nanoparticles combined with zeolite was also investigated. The effects of iron-to-nitrate ratio and the affiliation of zeolite were studied systemically. The results show that nitrate with the concentration of 80 mg/L was mostly removed within 60 minutes, and the endproducts mainly are ammonia with Fe(0) but little ammonia with Fe(0) and zeolite. The role of nanoscale iron in the nitrate reduction should be take part in two major processes: (a) directly participate in the redox reaction; and (b) adsorption of nitrate. And the role of zeolite in nitrate reduction was only the absorption ammonia.
