A model of multiplexing heterogeneous flows in a mobile network

摘要
In this paper, we consider cellular communication systems that support heterogeneous flows where hand-off calls, new calls and data are queued. A queueing model for this cellular system is analyzed. Two distinct customer classes numbered 1 and 2 are defined: data and calls in progress of class 1 have priority over new calls which are of class 2. Loss probabilities and waiting time distributions are derived, in both cases finite and infinite buffer with the aid of point processes.
