Noise combines road, rail and air traffic: more harmful than usual?

Data from a huge German case-control study reporting the effects of residential exposure to road, rail, and air traffic noise on the risks of cardiovascular disease and depression were used to compare two models for assessing the impact of total exposure to traffic noise*. The findings cast doubt on the value of the conventional method.
