摘要
This paper summarizes possible improvement areas in the standard algorithm for the Dual-frequency Precipitation Radar (DPR) onboard the GPM's core observatory. They include the threshold for precipitation detection, clutter rejection, classification of precipitation types and the attenuation correction that includes the surface reference technique (SRT). The paper also mentions possible improvement expected after the high sensitivity beams of the DPR's Ka band radar are changed to scan the outer swath to realize the dual-frequency measurement over the full swath.
