Effect of Si on the precipitation behavior of Mg-6Al alloy

摘要
The precipitation in Mg-6A1 alloy was accelerated by the Si addition. As a result, the hardness of Mg-6Al alloy was increased and the peak age time and time for full precipitation were brought forward. In Mg-6Al alloy, discontinuous precipitation occupied the predominance, whereas the continuous precipitation was more favorable in Mg-6Al-xSi alloys.
