Small strain elastic moduli of saturated and dry sands

摘要：
Using Blot's theory, elastic moduli of sands are calculated from fast P and S wave velocity. A modified triaxial cell allowing wave velocity measurement during small strain elastic testing is presented. Elastic moduli determined by means of wave propagation are similar to the one obtained from small strain triaxial compression. Comparison of the dry and saturated shear wave velocity leads to calculus of the coupling factor kappa.
