An application of the virtual transmission line model of an open-ended coaxial probe for dielectric properties characterization of biological tissues

摘要
The design of an open-ended coaxial probe for the characterization of dielectric properties of biologic materials is presented. At a first stage, the geometrical features of the probe have been optimized in order to eliminate spurious resonances due to the truncation plane. The optimized probe has been numerically benchmarked through the use of some known materials; dielectrics properties of materials have been derived by exploiting an algorithm based on the virtual transmission line model of the probe.
