摘要
The present study was undertaken to record the prevalence of urolithiasis in buffalo calves, caprine and canine at Referral Veterinary Polyclinic, of Indian Veterinary Research Institute. Different epidemiological parameters like age, sex, and castration status, feeding status were recorded. Animals presented with signs of urolithiasis like dysuria, anuria, urinary incontinence, abdominal pain, tensed abdomen were included in this study. Urolithiasis was confirmed by ultrasonography and urine microscopy before inclusion in the present research. Incidence rate was highest in the month of January (13.93%) and lowest in October (2.57%). The disease is most prevalent between October and February in every year. Prevalence was highest in the year 2015 (6.99%) and lowest in 2016 (5.96%). Among the various species, bovine (buffalo calves) were affected the most, followed by caprine and canine. Female:Male ratio among affected animals was 1:56, 1:81 and 1:10 among bovine (buffalo calves), caprine and canine, respectively. Animals were fed solely on bran diet. Incidence of urolithiasis was higher in animals castrated at early age.
