摘要
Cutting is an essential operation for forming and designing shapes. The cutting operation has geometrical and physical aspects. We implemented visual and haptic feedback of the cutting operation by remarking on the geometrical and physical aspects, respectively, In the geometrical aspect, we propose to implement cutting operation through boolean operations on a 3D object. Using this method; we implemented a virtual environment in which we can cut objects intuitively through direct manipulation interface. In the physical aspect, we propose rt calculation method of representing the cutting force in real-time. We modeled frictional force. cutting resistance and viscous drag that affect the cutting edge. Through experiments, we confirmed that we can represent natural sensation of force by the proposed model.
