摘要
Sinunasal disease is a hallmark of cystic fibrosis (CF). A group of 51 patients with CF (27 females and 24 males aged 4 to 20 years) was examined by nasal endoscopy with collection of middle meatus secretion through a swab. Nasal polyposis was found in 14 patients (27.4%) with male preponderance of 2.5:1 (p<. 05). Middle meatus secretion culture resulted positive for S. aureus in 33% of the cases and for P. aeruginosa in 5.8%. Our results point that nasal polyposis is a frequent disease in patients with CF especially in the second decade of life, and colonization by S. aureus is very significant in their upper airways.
