Factors that influence the effectiveness of the teaching and learning of electronic subjects in vocational colleges

摘要
Practical teaching is an approach that is used in teaching and learning in vocational colleges in Malaysia. The effectiveness of a good practical teaching approach not only depends on the lecturers' competence in carrying out teaching and learning activities, but is also influenced by other factors. Hence, this paper will look at what factors influence the teaching and learning of practical electronic subjects in vocational colleges. The researcher uses a descriptive research approach and uses a questionnaire as a research instrument to obtain data. A total of 135 lecturers and 238 students from 58 vocational colleges that offer Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology courses were selected in this research. Descriptive data analysis has been used in this study, as the mean and standard deviation is obtained. The findings show that the workshop environment and the use of technology have a positive effect on the effectiveness of teaching and learning sessions in vocational colleges. The findings of this study will help teachers to ensure that factors such as the workshop environment and the use of technology are given the correct emphasis when planning lessons and practical learning in the classroom.
