摘要
Different silicate fillers have been evaluated in a poly octene ethylene grafted maleic anhydride and polypropylene blend. Effect of the silicate shape and surface groups on thermo-mechanical properties has been studied. Changes in polymer glass transition and crystallite melting, have been monitored through temperature-modulated differential scanning calorimeter. Thermal expansion from thermo-mechanical analyzer and mechanical properties from micro-indentation and tensile testing was evaluated for these composites. Through these thermo-mechanical studies, an attempt has been made to understand the effect of silicate aspect ratio and surface group interaction with the polymer matrix.
