Adaptive hybrid ARQ using 3G turbo codes on fading channels

摘要
In this paper, performance of a hybrid ARQ (automatic repeat request) for 3G (3(rd) generation) turbo codes over the Rayleigh fading channels is examined for a short distance and along distance connection. The hybrid ARQ scheme adaptively adjusts the code rates of the first transmission according to the number of average retransmissions at a given OR (signal-noise-ratios) range. The adaptive hybrid ARQ yields a better throughput than the type-2 hybrid ARQ for fast fading channels at long distances.
