摘要
We briefly review the current status of massive star evolution models including the effects of rotation and magnetic fields, and discuss possible evolutionary paths of massive stars towards long gamma-ray bursts. We also discuss the evolution of the first stars with rotation, and argue that the so-called chemically homogeneous evolution channel is most relevant for GRBs from the first generations of stars in the early universe. Our preliminary result indicates that PopIII GRB progenitors should have initial masses of about 20 - 60 M-circle dot and that super-collapsar from very massive stars (>similar to 250 M-circle dot) is not likely to occur.
