Simulation of soil-structure interaction effects in shaking table tests

摘要
A new method to simulate soil-structure interaction effects in shaking table tests has been presented recently by the authors. In the method, analog circuits are used to produce soil-foundation interaction motions in real time. The circuits are designed from unit impulse functions of a foundation which are developed for very ideal simple conditions. The study in the present paper shows that salient interaction features are often insensitive to the detailed variations of soil profiles. This finding leads to the possibility of applying the present method to the realistic nonlinear soil environment in an approximate manner.
