The present article consists of a reflection on the tendencies existing in contemporary Brazilian Literature during the years 1990 and 2000, taking into account the changes in the enunciative strategies operated by the urban narrative in that period, and the themes of identity and representation, violence and exception, exclusion and inclusion. The authors selected for this analysis are: Luiz Ruffato, Livia Garcia-Roza, Paulo Lins and Ferrez.
