Getting photometric spatial resolution from 2-D spectropolarimetric data

摘要
We present a method to obtain the Point Spread Function (PSF) of 2-D spectropolarimetric data, based on the comparison of continuum intensity maps of the quiet Sun to high resolution photometric images of granulation. The use of an Optimum Filter technique allows us to deconvolve each spatial map at every wavelength and Stokes parameter from the estimated PSF, without significantly increasing the noise level. The restoration procedure has been applied to two sets of data: maps obtained at the Vacuum Tower Telescope (VTT) of the Observatorio del Teide (OT), and at the Dunn Solar Telescope of the Sacramento Peak Observatory with the Advanced Stokes Polarimeter (ASP).
