摘要
Introduction: With the renewed emphasis on clinical judgment in the national licensure exam, nurse educators must employ teaching strategies that foster the critical thinking necessary to make a clinical judgement. Questioning, when used as a scaffold, may be employed in the clinical setting to promote the connection of concepts necessary to make good clinical decisions. This manuscript describes the content validation of an instructional resource for nursing faculty as they aim to cultivate critical thinking skills in the clinical environment. Methods: The process for content validation as described by Lynn was used to examine questioning prompts of a one-page (front and back), 60-item, instructional resource. Results: Through the process of content validation, five items were removed, and many items were revised for clarity. The final, validated product included 55-items. Discussion: This instructional resource may be used to foster critical thinking in the clinical setting. (C) 2022 Organization for Associate Degree Nursing. Published by Elsevier Inc.
