摘要
The software industry is the core and soul of the information industry. It is a strategic leading industry that determines a country's international competitive ability in the 21st century. Facing the trend of economical globalization and global informationization, it has always been an important research subject in the software industry on how to effectively fulfill the software reuse. Component-Based Software Engineering (CBSE) is a new pattern in the software development. As the distributed object based component technology becomes more and more well developed, CBSE has become an active area in the software reuse practice. It is also regarded as one of the developing directions that have the most potential in software engineering. In the present paper, epistemology was used as the starting point, the concept, characteristics, meanings of CBSE were covered. CBSE was also compared with the traditional technologies in software engineering. It was discussed how CBSE could made a great influence on the production patterns in the software industry. Also, it was addressed what the opportunities and challenges that the Chinese software industry is facing in order to realize a leap-forward type of development.
