摘要
This paper provides an approach to the analysis of sustainability of urban development of the Megalopolis of Central Mexico through the elaboration of a summary index from 17 indicators with the Principal Component Analysis (PCA), index with which spatial analysis techniques were applied (ESDA). Positive spatial autocorrelation was detected and clusters were identified showing a dichotomy between central and peripheral metropolitan municipalities, and the advantageous position of Mexico City over the remaining municipalities in sustainability levels. The most disadvantaged municipalities with a need for intervention were identified.
