LEVINE, B. D., K. MOTAMEDI, and L. L. SEEGER. Imaging sports-related ankle injuries. Curr. Sports Med. Rep., Vol. 9, No. 5, pp. 269-277, 2010. Sports-related ankle injuries are becoming more common as the population becomes more fitness-conscious and younger generations participate in a wider variety of athletics. As imaging technology advances, providing greater anatomic detail and higher sensitivity for pathology, the need for a detailed knowledge of anatomy and accurate imaging diagnosis of ankle injuries is ever more critical. In this article, we review ankle anatomy pertinent to imaging and discuss common sports-related ankle injuries with emphasis on their imaging features.
